People say to get what you want, you have to believe in yourself. While believing in yourself IS important, it’s not enough.

The world isn’t crazy enough to reward undeserving people. You can have experience, but you won’t live the Good Life without execution.

If you want to get anything you want in life, follow this mindset:

Deserve what you want.

It won’t always be easy, but if you follow that mindset, it WILL happen. Thomas Edison failed thousands of times before creating the light bulb, one of the greatest inventions in history. Not many know this, but he was also one of the richest people in the world.

Throughout history, you’ll see the same pattern:

  • Countless failures

  • Amazing success

Pushing yourself through the experiments is key. If you’re unwilling to do that, then life will be a constant struggle.

Is there a shortcut?

There is, in fact, a way to fasttrack the time it takes to reach your end goal. It’s actually a very simple solution most people ignore.

Here’s what it is:

Instead of learning from only YOUR mistakes, learn from the mistakes others made before you. Basically, don’t start from scratch — pick up where others already achieved success.

How to learn from the mistakes of others:

  • Read books

  • Network

  • Invest in yourself

Books

You can literally find billions of hours of lessons and research in your bookstore. If you go to the library, it’s free.

I can personally credit many of my successes to something I’ve read in a book. No matter your age, be hungry for knowledge.

Networking

When it comes to networking, try to go to at least one event per year. Just one meeting could be life changing.

Invest in yourself

Investing in yourself is the best investment you’ll ever make. If you want to build muscle, invest in a trainer. If you want to become more extroverted, invest in a improv class to help you loosen up.
